The centerpieces of these stunning earrings are prominent, highly faceted round glass stones. They feature an intense Aurora Borealis (AB) coating that produces a strong iridescent, prismatic reflection. As light hits the facets, the colors shift vividly through pastel hues of mint green, vibrant aqua blue, soft lavender, magenta, and pale gold. Enclosing each central stone is a single rows of small, clear, brilliant-cut rhinestones. They are tightly grouped into a continuous halo border that adds classic mid-century sparkle and outlines the circular profile. The reverse features vintage clip-on backings stamped with the historical provenance marker "W. Germany" (or "Western Germany"). AB crystals, a finish famously developed by Swarovski in collaboration with Christian Dior in 1956. This "rainbow" coating became a hallmark of mid-century costume jewelry, particularly pieces manufactured in West Germany during the 1950s and 1960s.
